We went for a spa session one of the morning during our stay at the Banjaran Hotsprings Retreat. We had a swim after breakfast that morning, and rang the front desk to arrange buggy service to pick us up from our villa and dropping us at directly at the entrance of the Spa and Wellness Centre.
We were then greeted by Mimi and she was very friendly and professional. We had a bit of a chat and learnt that she is actually from Phuket, Thailand. She served us tea and let us have time filling out the usual forms.(health condition/preferred massaged body areas etc). After taking some pictures around the spa centre, she introduced us to our therapists (Mine was Hui) and we went ahead with our treatments.
We had the traditional Malay Journey Spa Package and it lasted for three whole hours. This Malay-inspired spa package commences with the Traditional Malay Urut Massage and was followed by a Himalayan Rock Salt & Clove Compress. The bliss continued with a Tropical Boreh Scrub and Tropical Coconut Body Wrap to exfoliate and soften the skin, and concluded with a Malay Hair Cream Bath and moisturizing Coconut Milk Bath. Hui – my therapist was very professional, constantly checking with me to see if the pressure was okay.
All in all, the experience was above average but I think the Spa Village at Pangkor Laut Resort still remains number one for me! We headed for lunch and dipped in the hot geothermal “pots” after that.
